President Sheridan’s theme for the 2023-2024 year is “Let Freedom Ring- Because of Those Who Serve”. Membership is the driving force of our organization. Without members we cannot work our programs. To ensure the American Legion Auxiliary continues to exist for a future of serving our veterans, military, and their families, our goal is to enhance membership strength. Our organization’s success depends on each and every one of you because working membership is the responsibility of every member of our organization. To achieve our membership goals, we must recruit new members, retain the members we have, and reach out to previous members to encourage them to rejoin. So let’s ring those bells to spread the word of our amazing organization and share our mission of service, not self.
The first membership challenge was September 11, 2023: Patriot’s Day. Congratulations to those units who reached 50% of their membership. Their name will be placed in a drawing. The next goal is November 11, 2023: Veterans Day. Units reaching 65% of their goal will be placed in a drawing.
This year’s Department membership team also includes: Northeast Division-Marybeth Roehr; Northwest Division-Karen Bumgarner; Southeast Division-Jackie Sutor; and Southwest Division-Janyce Musgrove. If you have any questions, please contact Co-Chair Shanna Jelinek or Co-Chair Cathie Goth.
